Being raised by a single mother along with 4 brothers and 1 sister, she understood the socioeconomic needs of families. As the eldest, she had to assume the role of caretaker for her brothers and sister. This was due to her mother working 2 jobs to support them. As a child, she could see a need for services and assistance for those in economically distressed living conditions. From there, her passion to assist disadvantaged families grew and sparked the charge to create a space for families to grow and obtain the needed resources. Nix- Sullivan Complex For Families was birthed and has become a viable resource in the community.
